Birdeye runs $299 to $449 per location a month on a 12 month contract. 15 alternatives compared on price, trial and terms.

Birdeye publishes no rate card, so every figure attributed to it below is reported by third parties rather than the vendor. Everything else is vendor published. Checked August 2026.

Short answer

People leave Birdeye over cost and contract terms rather than over the product. Reported pricing is $299 to $449 per location per month, on a 12 month auto renewing agreement that needs 90 days written notice to cancel, with onboarding fees of $500 to $1,500 per location on top. The product is well liked. The commercial terms are what send people looking.

Why businesses look for Birdeye alternatives

  1. The price per location

At $299 to $449 per location per month, ten locations is somewhere between $36,000 and $54,000 a year before fees. That is enterprise pricing for a job most local businesses need done at a fraction of it.

  2. A 12 month auto renewing contract

The agreement renews itself and needs 90 days written notice to get out of. People who miss that window find themselves in another year.

  3. Onboarding fees

Reported at $500 to $1,500 per location. A multi site rollout can invoice five figures before the platform has sent a single review request.

  4. Fees that arrive later

Integration fees of $500 to $2,000 are reported for connecting a CRM or POS, and an innovation fee of around 8 percent is reported at renewal.

What Birdeye is genuinely good at

Birdeye is real enterprise infrastructure with genuine multi location depth and integrations into the systems that actually trigger review requests.

  • Deep review and messaging feature set, and it is well regarded by the businesses that use it.
  • Wide integration list into CRM and practice management systems.

If those are the things you need most, Birdeye may well be the right answer and you can stop reading here.

1

Local SEO Tool

This is us
Price
$16 at 1 location, flat $37 for 2 to 7, $5.33 each from 8
Trial
Three day free trial
Terms
No contract, cancel any month
Where it wins
  • All 42 tools on the single plan. Nothing sits behind a higher tier.
  • Priced per location only. Adding your team costs nothing.
  • Starts at one location, with no minimum location count.
Where it does not
  • Newer than the names below, so there is less third party review history to read.
  • Not an enterprise procurement product. If you need a named account manager and a signed MSA, the enterprise vendors are built for that and we are not.

If you are leaving Birdeye. Our price is published and so is the shape of it. $16 at one location, a flat $37 for two to seven, and $5.33 each from eight upward. Monthly, with no notice period. Where we lose is depth of integration. If your review requests fired off a CRM or practice management system, we do not match that.

2

BrightLocal

Price
Track $39, Manage $49, Grow $59 per location per month
Trial
14 day free trial, no card required
Terms
Monthly or annual, annual saves up to about 26 percent
Where it wins
  • Long established, widely used, and a lot of people already know how it works.
  • A genuine free trial with no card, which most of this category does not offer.
  • Strong citation and audit tooling.
Where it does not
  • Features are split across tiers. Listings sync starts at Manage and review management only arrives on Grow.
  • That means the tools most local businesses actually want tend to sit on the most expensive plan.
  • Cost climbs with location count. Grow at 50 locations is listed at $449 a month.

If you are leaving Birdeye. You can read the whole price list before you speak to anyone. $39, $49 and $59 per location per month, monthly or annual, your choice. The trial is 14 days with no card. Just note that review management, probably the reason you bought Birdeye, only appears on the $59 Grow plan.

3

Whitespark

Price
Rank tracker from $25 a month. Reputation from $79. Managed GBP service $497 a month
Trial
Varies by product
Terms
Monthly
Where it wins
  • Genuinely good at citations, which is what they are known for.
  • The rank tracker is inexpensive and covers unlimited domains and locations.
  • Real local SEO expertise behind the products.
Where it does not
  • Separate subscriptions rather than one login, so costs and logins add up as you add jobs.
  • No single place where rank, reviews and profile health sit together.

If you are leaving Birdeye. Every Whitespark price is published and every product bills monthly, which is the opposite of what you just left. The catch is shape. Reputation is a separate $79 a month product sitting alongside the $25 rank tracker, so you would run two subscriptions in place of one contract.

4

Moz Local

Price
Lite $20, Preferred $30, Elite $40 per location per month
Trial
No open ended free tier
Terms
Monthly or annual, annual saves up to about 25 percent
Where it wins
  • Simple, cheap and good at the one thing it does.
  • A trusted name with a long history in SEO.
Where it does not
  • Listings focused. It is not a rank tracker, a review workflow or a reporting suite.
  • Extra data aggregators cost more on top, and are limited to the higher tiers.
  • You will usually end up buying something else alongside it.

If you are leaving Birdeye. Three published prices, $20, $30 and $40 per location per month, and you can pay month to month. Nothing hidden and nothing to give notice on. The honest limit is scope. Moz Local handles listings and citations, so the reviews and messaging half of what Birdeye did needs a second purchase.

5

Local Falcon

Price
Credit packages from about $25 to $200 a month
Trial
Credit based, so you can start small
Terms
Monthly
Where it wins
  • The geo grid reporting is excellent and it is what they focus on entirely.
  • Credits mean you can start very cheaply if you scan occasionally.
Where it does not
  • Grid tracking only. No profile management, no review workflow, no listings.
  • Credits mean the cost scales with how much you scan, which is hard to budget when scanning grows.
  • You will need other tools alongside it to do the rest of the job.

If you are leaving Birdeye. Worth saying plainly that this replaces almost nothing you had. Local Falcon does geo grid rank tracking and no profile, review or listing work. What it does fix is visibility on cost. Packages run about $25 to $200 a month, billed monthly, and credits meter what you spend.

6

Yext

Price
Self serve $199 to $999 per location per year. Larger deals quoted
Trial
No self serve trial on the enterprise path
Terms
Annual billing only, typically 12 or 24 month minimum commitments
Where it wins
  • The widest publisher network in the category.
  • Built for large, complex portfolios with governance requirements.
Where it does not
  • Annual billing only, with 12 to 24 month minimum commitments.
  • Mid market deployments are commonly quoted in the tens of thousands per year.
  • You are largely paying for listings distribution. Rank tracking and review workflow are a different shape of product.

If you are leaving Birdeye. Wrong direction for someone escaping a year long commitment. Yext bills annually only, with 12 to 24 month minimums, and the enterprise path has no self serve trial. The self serve tiers at least publish numbers, $199 to $999 per location per year, so you can see a figure without a call.

7

Uberall

Price
Not published. Quote on request
Trial
No free trial
Terms
Annual agreements
Where it wins
  • Built for large portfolios and wide publisher networks.
  • Strong on listings distribution across many directories at once.
Where it does not
  • A 25 location minimum, so smaller businesses and growing chains cannot buy it at all.
  • No published pricing and no free trial, so evaluating it means booking a sales call first.
  • Add ons for posting, local pages and messages sit outside the base packages.

If you are leaving Birdeye. If booking a sales call just to learn a price is what pushed you out, do not walk into this one. Uberall publishes no pricing, runs no free trial, and sells annual agreements. It also carries a 25 location minimum, so plenty of businesses cannot buy it at all.

8

Semrush Local

Price
Local Base $30, Local Pro $60 per location per month, billed annually
Trial
Seven days, card required
Terms
No minimum term
Where it wins
  • Sits inside a toolset a lot of marketers already have open.
  • Listing management and review tools on the higher tiers.
  • Map rank tracking included as credits.
Where it does not
  • Listing management only arrives on the higher tiers.
  • Rank tracking runs on credits, so heavy scanning costs more than the headline.
  • You are buying into the wider Semrush account model, which is a bigger commitment than a local tool.

If you are leaving Birdeye. Prices are published and there is no minimum term, so leaving is a cancellation form rather than a 90 day letter. Two things to weigh. Review management and generation start on Local Pro at $60 per location per month, and map rank tracking runs on credits, so heavy scanning costs above the headline.

9

Synup

Price
Solo $49 for one location, Premium $299 to 10, Pro $499 to 25, Scale $899 to 50
Trial
14 days, no card
Terms
Monthly, or annual at 20 percent off
Where it wins
  • Built with agencies in mind rather than retrofitted for them.
  • Listings distribution and reputation in one place.
Where it does not
  • Two costs rather than one. A base plan and the band your location count falls into on top.
  • The real monthly figure is hard to work out until you know your location count.
  • Demo led rather than something you can just try.

If you are leaving Birdeye. Closest thing here to a direct answer for your complaint. Synup publishes every band price and its effective per location rate, offers 14 days with no card and no sales call, and states plans are monthly and you can leave at the end of a billing period. Agent work is still credit metered on top.

10

Localo

Price
Single Business $49 a month, or $39 billed annually. Pro $169, or $149 annually
Trial
14 days, no card
Terms
Monthly or annual, no minimum term
Where it wins
  • Simple and quick to get going with.
  • Priced for a single location rather than an portfolio.
  • Free tools you can try in a browser.
Where it does not
  • Built around a small number of locations, so it stretches at scale.
  • Not the tool for an agency running dozens of client portfolios.

If you are leaving Birdeye. Published prices, a 14 day trial with no card, a 30 day money back guarantee, and cancellation any time. Commercially that is a clean break. Check two details though. Prices are quoted plus VAT by a Europe based vendor, and one profile at $49 a month jumps straight to $169 for Pro.

11

Local Viking

Price
Single $39, Starter $59, Pro $99, Agency $149, Enterprise $200 a month by listing count
Trial
No free trial advertised
Terms
Monthly
Where it wins
  • Geo grid tracking and GBP posting together at a low price.
  • White label reporting on the higher tiers.
  • Straightforward pricing by listing count.
Where it does not
  • Credits for keywords and grid scans cap how much you can actually run.
  • No free tier, so you commit before you try it.
  • Narrower than a full local SEO platform.

If you are leaving Birdeye. Pricing is published by listing count and the plans bill monthly, so no notice period. You still pay before you look, because no free trial is advertised. Also confirm who you are buying from. The pricing page now redirects to a Local Optics address and the old app hostname no longer resolves.

12

SearchAtlas

Price
Starter $99, Growth $199, Pro $399, Agency $999 a month
Trial
Seven days
Terms
Month to month
Where it wins
  • Covers general SEO as well as local, so it replaces more than one tool.
  • Seats and projects included rather than charged per location.
Where it does not
  • Priced by seats and projects, so a multi location local job is not what the pricing is shaped around.
  • Local is one part of a much wider product, and depth varies.

If you are leaving Birdeye. Month to month on the vendor's own pricing page, with tiers published from $99 to $999. An annual discount is reported by others but does not appear on their site. Forecasting cost is still awkward, since plan quotas, per site rates and metered top ups overlap, and Starter allows three GBP automations a month.

13

Local Dominator

Price
Lite $39, Advance $59, Pro $97, Powerhouse $197, Enterprise $399 a month, credit metered
Trial
Seven days, no card
Terms
Monthly or annual
Where it wins
  • White label reporting on every tier, which most competitors reserve for higher plans.
  • Low entry price.
Where it does not
  • Credit based, so the sticker price is not what heavy scanning actually costs.
  • Add ons on top. An AI tracker at about $49 per site and a citations builder at about $35 per location.

If you are leaving Birdeye. This one publishes every tier and says cancel anytime, with a seven day trial and no card. Be clear that it meters too. Each plan carries a monthly credit allowance, 5,000 on the $39 Lite tier, and scans eat into it, with top ups starting at $100 for 10,000 credits.

14

GMBapi

Price
$16 per location at one location, falling to $4.50 each at 201 and above
Trial
14 days, no card
Terms
Monthly or annual. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period
Where it wins
  • Genuinely cheap per location at scale.
  • A two week free trial and a free version.
  • Setup and support included.
Where it does not
  • Focused on GBP management and reporting rather than the whole local SEO job.
  • Pricing is built around large portfolios, so the value case is weaker at a handful of locations.

If you are leaving Birdeye. Read the cancellation clause first. GMBapi publishes a full six band table from $16 per location down to $4.50, and the trial is 14 days with no card. Its own FAQ says you can cancel only after the third month, and with one month of notice, so a notice period comes back, much shorter than 90 days but real.

15

RightChoice.AI

Price
Solo $20 and Business $30 a month. Agency is $6 per profile
Trial
Seven days, no card
Terms
Monthly or annual, two months free on annual
Where it wins
  • AI led approach to local SEO and profile work.
  • Newer product, so it is built around how search works now.
Where it does not
  • No published pricing at the time of writing, so comparing cost means asking.
  • Less independent review history than the established names.

If you are leaving Birdeye. Monthly or annual by your choice, upgrades or downgrades take effect immediately, and canceling carries no fee. That is the commercial shape you are after. One wrinkle. The prices load from their own pricing API and are geo detected, so the figure changes by country. Confirm the currency at checkout.

Where GMBAudit fits, and where it does not

A contract that renews for another full term unless you write in ninety days ahead is a commercial decision, not a product one. It is also the thing people remember.

So it is one plan with all 42 tools on it and no feature held back for a higher tier. One location is $16 a month, two to seven locations is a flat $37 however many you add inside that range, and from eight it is $5.33 each. Three day free trial, no card, no contract.

For the jobs people are usually comparing here, that means grid rank tracking, one review inbox and white label reporting sit on the same plan, rather than across three subscriptions or three tiers.

Where it is not the answer
  • Newer than the names below, so there is less third party review history to read.
  • Not an enterprise procurement product. If you need a named account manager and a signed MSA, the enterprise vendors are built for that and we are not.

Four questions worth asking before you switch

Questions two and three are the ones that would have saved you here, so read them before signing anything else. Our own answers are on the pricing page.

  1. What is on the plan you can actually afford?

Not what is on the website. Open the pricing page and check which tier holds the feature you are buying this for. In this category it is often not the entry one.

  2. What is the minimum, and the notice period?

A minimum location count decides whether you can buy at all. A notice period decides how long a bad decision lasts.

  3. Can you try it before you commit?

A trial answers the only question that matters, which is whether your team will use it after month two. A demo does not.

  4. What will it cost at the size you are growing into?

Per location pricing compounds. Work out the figure at double your current locations before you sign anything.

Birdeye questions

How much does Birdeye cost?

Reported pricing is $299 per location per month on Starter, $349 on Growth and $449 on Dominate, with custom quotes above four locations. Onboarding is reported at $500 to $1,500 per location on top of that.

Can I cancel Birdeye?

The agreement is commonly a 12 month minimum that auto renews and requires 90 days written notice to cancel. If you want out, the notice window matters more than the renewal date.

Is Birdeye worth it?

If reviews and customer messaging are your whole problem, the product is well regarded and the feature depth is real. The question is whether the price and the contract match the size of the problem you have. For most local businesses they do not.

What is the cheapest Birdeye alternative?

Local SEO Tool at $5.33 per location per month covers reviews alongside 41 other tools with no contract. BrightLocal Grow at $59 per location per month includes review management if you want a more established name.

Do cheaper tools handle review requests properly?

Yes. Automatic requests, a follow up and a one tap review link are not the expensive part of this category. Contract terms and enterprise onboarding are.

All 42 tools. One plan. No contract.

$16 at 1 location, flat $37 for 2 to 7, $5.33 each from 8, with a three day free trial and nothing held back for a higher tier.
