Local rank tracker

See your rank on every street, not one number.

A grid scan checks your Google Maps rank from many points around your business and puts a number on every pin. The map shows where you are strong and where you disappear from the results. Scans repeat on a schedule, and every scan is saved.

The short answer

The rank tracker runs grid scans. It checks your Google Maps position for a keyword from many points around your location and shows the rank at each point on a map. You choose how big the grid is and how much ground it covers, set the scan to repeat, and line up any two scans to see what moved. Each finished scan is stored with its date, keyword and average position.

What it is

What is a grid scan?

Local rankings change with where the searcher stands. A business can be first beside its own shop and invisible three miles away.

One reading cannot show that. A grid of readings can. The scan checks your rank from many points on a map, and each point gets its own number.

Green pins are where you are strong. Red pins show where you drop out of the map pack, which is exactly where the next piece of work should go.

01 · Starting a scan

Pick the business, the keyword, and the grid.

Open a new scan, find the business, and enter a keyword that actually brings customers.

Then choose how many points the grid has and how much ground it covers. Keep it tight in a dense city area, and spread it wide for a business serving several suburbs.

02 · Service areas

Built for businesses with no shopfront.

A plumber or a cleaner has no counter for customers to stand at. For businesses like these, the service area scan measures the whole area they serve.

A business that drives to its customers gets real numbers across that area, instead of one reading at an office nobody visits.

Scans repeat, and nothing is lost.

Tell the scan to repeat, weekly or monthly, and it rebuilds itself from then on. You never set up the same scan twice.

Each finished scan is stored: when it ran, which keyword, and the average position. Open any older scan to see the map as it was before you began.

How it works

How to set it up

  1. Find the business. Every scan is tied to a real profile.
  2. Enter the keyword. The search a customer would actually make.
  3. Set the grid size and spread. Tight for a city block, wide for suburbs.
  4. Schedule the repeat. So the scan rebuilds itself on the days you picked.
  5. Start with the weak points. The red pins show where customers cannot find you.

FAQ

Questions people ask

What is a grid scan?

A rank check made from many points on a map around your business, for one keyword. Each point gets its own number, so you can see where you are strong and where you disappear.

Why is one rank reading not enough?

Because local results change street by street. One reading, usually taken near your own address, is the most flattering number available and the least useful.

Does it work for businesses without a shopfront?

Yes. The service area scan covers the whole area a mobile business serves, so companies that drive to their customers get real numbers.

How often should scans run?

Weekly or monthly for most businesses. Set the schedule once and the scans rebuild themselves.

Can I show a client that the work is paying off?

Yes. Compare an old scan with a new one and every improved pin is marked. The history keeps the before picture safe.

What can I export?

A PDF report for clients, a CSV of the raw numbers, or a JPG of the map. All carry your branding.

The map tells you where to work next.

Every scan shows where you are losing customers, and the saved history proves the change when you fix it. from $5.33 per location each month, three day trial.
