An independent look at Semrush Local: what it does, what it costs, what users actually rate it, and how it compares with GMBAudit.
Pricing checked August 2026 against the vendor’s own page where it publishes one.
Quick verdict
Sold per location, and it does not need the rest of Semrush. The documentation says Local plans can be added to any subscription or purchased separately, so the $139 a month core platform is not a prerequisite, which is the opposite of what most buyers assume. Worth it at $60 per location if you want distribution to more than 70 directories and review tools in the same login as your organic reporting. The $30 tier is narrower than it looks.

What is Semrush Local?
Semrush Local is the local toolkit inside Semrush, sold per location on top of the wider platform. Google Business Profile management, posting, listing distribution, review tools and map rank tracking.
It is built for people who already live in Semrush for keyword and site work and want local handled in the same place rather than in a separate tab.
The important structural detail is that rank scanning runs on credits. Each tier includes a monthly allowance, so how often and how widely you scan is capped by the plan rather than being unlimited.

Semrush Local pros and cons
- Local can be bought on its own, so a single location shop pays $30 or $60 without also licensing the core Semrush platform.
- The $30 Base tier already automates GBP posts, review replies and photos, and includes 375 map grid credits, which competitors usually gate higher.
- Pro pushes NAP data to more than 70 directories in one action, including US healthcare directories that narrower listings tools do not reach.
- Map Rank Tracker has a genuinely free tier: one campaign, 50 credits a month, a 5×5 grid and one keyword, with no payment.
- Listing management, review management and review generation are all Pro only, so the real entry price for a full local workflow is $60.
- Listings are rented. Semrush's cancellation notes say listing data stays in the directories, then falls back to each publisher's normal compilation process.
- White label client reporting costs extra. The Base Report is $10 a month and only the $20 Pro Report removes Semrush branding.
- Published rates are shown as billed annually and no month to month figure appears, so the true monthly cost is hard to pin down.
Semrush Local ratings and user reviews
| Platform | Rating | Based on |
|---|---|---|
| Capterra | Not found | No separate score for Semrush Local located |
| Trustpilot | Not found | No published score located |
| SoftwareAdvice | Not found | No published score located |
The directory scores cover Semrush as a whole rather than the Local product on its own, so read it as a signal about the company rather than about this toolkit. The recurring theme in local specific feedback is that convenience of having it in one account matters more than any individual feature.

Semrush Local FAQs
Do I need a paid Semrush plan before I can buy Semrush Local?
No. Semrush's documentation says Local plans can be added to any Semrush subscription or purchased separately, so a local only shop can pay per location without the core platform, which is $139 a month billed monthly or $117.33 billed annually.
Is the $30 Base plan enough, or do I have to be on Pro?
Base covers profile optimization, AI assisted posting and map grid tracking. Listing distribution, review management and review generation are Pro only, so if citations are the reason you are buying, your real price is $60 per location. Ten locations on Pro is $600 a month, before extras.
What happens to my listings if I cancel Semrush Local?
Semrush's cancellation documentation says listing data will remain in the directories and become subject to each publisher's normal data compilation process, which may change your listings over time. That is the standard sync and revert model, so the citation work does not fully persist. Canceling is done through a form, and removing a location does not stop billing.
How many geo grid scans do the 375 credits on the Base plan cover?
Semrush publishes credit allowances rather than a cost per scan, so how far 375 goes depends on grid size and keyword count. For comparison, the standalone Map Rank Tracker Basic plan is $30 a month for one campaign with 4,000 credits, and extra credits are $5 per 1,000.
Can I send a client report with my own branding instead of Semrush's?
Only on the Pro Report extra at $20 a month. The $10 Base Report schedules reports but keeps Semrush branding. Additional users cost $20 on the Local pricing page and $45 on the main one. Local SEO Tool includes white label reporting on its one plan, $16 at one location and a flat $37 for two to seven.
All 42 tools. One plan. No contract.
One location is $16 a month, two to seven is a flat $37, and from eight it is $5.33 each. Three day free trial.
