15 Best Synup Alternatives

Synup charges a base plan with locations included in each band on top. 15 alternatives compared on price, trial and contract.

Synup publishes its band prices and its effective per location rate, so the figures below are its own. Checked August 2026.

Short answer

Synup is built for agencies, which is a real strength. The problem people hit is that the price has two parts. A base plan from $99 to $999 a month, and the band your location count falls into on top of it. Working out what you will actually pay needs your location count first, and the number climbs faster than the headline suggests.

Why businesses look for Synup alternatives

  1. Two costs, not one

A base plan and a per location fee. The advertised price is only ever part of the bill.

  2. Hard to work out in advance

Until you know your final location count you cannot compare it against anything priced per location only.

  3. The per location fee dominates at scale

At thirty locations, roughly $35 each is more than most base plans, so the base fee becomes the smaller half.

  4. Demo led rather than try it

You go through a sales conversation rather than starting and finding out whether the team uses it.

What Synup is genuinely good at

Synup gates almost nothing behind a tier, which is rarer in this category than it sounds. That deserves saying before the criticism.

  • Built with agencies in mind rather than retrofitted for them.
  • Listings distribution and reputation in one place.

If those are the things you need most, Synup may well be the right answer and you can stop reading here.

All 15 next to Synup

Read the location column, not just the price. Synup sells bands that include a set number of locations, so the useful question is where your count lands.

Ordered by how gently each one handles going from one location to two, since that is the step that caught you.

1

Local SEO Tool

This is us
Price
$16 at 1 location, flat $37 for 2 to 7, $5.33 each from 8
Trial
Three day free trial
Terms
No contract, cancel any month
Where it wins
  • All 42 tools on the single plan. Nothing sits behind a higher tier.
  • Priced per location only. Adding your team costs nothing.
  • Starts at one location, with no minimum location count.
Where it does not
  • Newer than the names below, so there is less third party review history to read.
  • Not an enterprise procurement product. If you need a named account manager and a signed MSA, the enterprise vendors are built for that and we are not.

If you are leaving Synup. A second location here costs $37 flat and no part of the tool runs on credits. Be straight about the shape though. That $37 is itself a band, so two locations pay what seven pay. And we do not syndicate to in car navigation systems the way Synup does.

2

BrightLocal

Price
Track $39, Manage $49, Grow $59 per location per month
Trial
14 day free trial, no card required
Terms
Monthly or annual, annual saves up to about 26 percent
Where it wins
  • Long established, widely used, and a lot of people already know how it works.
  • A genuine free trial with no card, which most of this category does not offer.
  • Strong citation and audit tooling.
Where it does not
  • Features are split across tiers. Listings sync starts at Manage and review management only arrives on Grow.
  • That means the tools most local businesses actually want tend to sit on the most expensive plan.
  • Cost climbs with location count. Grow at 50 locations is listed at $449 a month.

If you are leaving Synup. Pricing runs per location with no band edge, so two locations on Track is $78 and nothing is metered. The trade is feature tiers, which Synup did not have. Listings sync starts at Manage, $49 a location, and review management only arrives on Grow at $59.

3

Uberall

Price
Not published. Quote on request
Trial
No free trial
Terms
Annual agreements
Where it wins
  • Built for large portfolios and wide publisher networks.
  • Strong on listings distribution across many directories at once.
Where it does not
  • A 25 location minimum, so smaller businesses and growing chains cannot buy it at all.
  • No published pricing and no free trial, so evaluating it means booking a sales call first.
  • Add ons for posting, local pages and messages sit outside the base packages.

If you are leaving Synup. Uberall will not sell to you at this size. It requires 25 locations minimum, publishes no pricing and offers no trial, so the smallest step up from a $49 Solo plan is a sales call and an annual agreement. Worth a look only if your portfolio is already large.

4

Yext

Price
Self serve $199 to $999 per location per year. Larger deals quoted
Trial
No self serve trial on the enterprise path
Terms
Annual billing only, typically 12 or 24 month minimum commitments
Where it wins
  • The widest publisher network in the category.
  • Built for large, complex portfolios with governance requirements.
Where it does not
  • Annual billing only, with 12 to 24 month minimum commitments.
  • Mid market deployments are commonly quoted in the tens of thousands per year.
  • You are largely paying for listings distribution. Rank tracking and review workflow are a different shape of product.

If you are leaving Synup. Self serve Yext charges per location per year, from $199 on Emerging, so a second location adds a predictable amount instead of tripling your bill. The catch is the term. Billing is annual only with 12 or 24 month minimum commitments, while Synup let you leave at the end of a month.

5

Moz Local

Price
Lite $20, Preferred $30, Elite $40 per location per month
Trial
No open ended free tier
Terms
Monthly or annual, annual saves up to about 25 percent
Where it wins
  • Simple, cheap and good at the one thing it does.
  • A trusted name with a long history in SEO.
Where it does not
  • Listings focused. It is not a rank tracker, a review workflow or a reporting suite.
  • Extra data aggregators cost more on top, and are limited to the higher tiers.
  • You will usually end up buying something else alongside it.

If you are leaving Synup. If listings syndication was the only part of Synup you really used, Moz Local adds locations one at a time at $20 each on Lite, with no credits anywhere. It is listings only though, so the rank tracking, reviews and social you had in one login become separate purchases.

6

GMBapi

Price
$16 per location at one location, falling to $4.50 each at 201 and above
Trial
14 days, no card
Terms
Monthly or annual. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period
Where it wins
  • Genuinely cheap per location at scale.
  • A two week free trial and a free version.
  • Setup and support included.
Where it does not
  • Focused on GBP management and reporting rather than the whole local SEO job.
  • Pricing is built around large portfolios, so the value case is weaker at a handful of locations.

If you are leaving Synup. Closest thing to a straight per location price in this list. One location is $16 and each of two to ten is $14, so a second location costs $14 rather than $250. Read the cancellation terms though. You can only leave after the third month with one month notice.

7

Birdeye

Price
Not published. Reported at $299 to $449 per location per month
Trial
30 days, but on single modules only, not the platform
Terms
Annual, and it auto renews unless you give 90 days written notice
Where it wins
  • Deep review and messaging feature set, and it is well regarded by the businesses that use it.
  • Wide integration list into CRM and practice management systems.
Where it does not
  • Reported onboarding fees of $500 to $1,500 per location before the platform sends a single review request.
  • A 12 month auto renewing contract with 90 days written notice to cancel.
  • Integration fees of $500 to $2,000 reported for connecting a CRM or POS.

If you are leaving Synup. Watch what the number means. Synup's $299 band covered up to ten locations. Birdeye's Starter rate is reported at $299 per location per month, so two locations is reported near $600, and it sits on an annual agreement that auto renews unless you give 90 days written notice.

8

Whitespark

Price
Rank tracker from $25 a month. Reputation from $79. Managed GBP service $497 a month
Trial
Varies by product
Terms
Monthly
Where it wins
  • Genuinely good at citations, which is what they are known for.
  • The rank tracker is inexpensive and covers unlimited domains and locations.
  • Real local SEO expertise behind the products.
Where it does not
  • Separate subscriptions rather than one login, so costs and logins add up as you add jobs.
  • No single place where rank, reviews and profile health sit together.

If you are leaving Synup. Location count does not appear in the rank tracker price at all. It is $25 a month for unlimited domains and locations, so the band problem disappears. Reviews are a separate $79 subscription though, and the Yext replacement runs $349 per location, so you end up managing several bills.

9

Local Falcon

Price
Credit packages from about $25 to $200 a month
Trial
Credit based, so you can start small
Terms
Monthly
Where it wins
  • The geo grid reporting is excellent and it is what they focus on entirely.
  • Credits mean you can start very cheaply if you scan occasionally.
Where it does not
  • Grid tracking only. No profile management, no review workflow, no listings.
  • Credits mean the cost scales with how much you scan, which is hard to budget when scanning grows.
  • You will need other tools alongside it to do the rest of the job.

If you are leaving Synup. Local Falcon meters too, so read this one carefully. Packages run from about $25 to $200 a month and every scan spends credits. If credit metering was what pushed you out of Synup you would be buying the same mechanism, and grid tracking is all you get.

10

Semrush Local

Price
Local Base $30, Local Pro $60 per location per month, billed annually
Trial
Seven days, card required
Terms
No minimum term
Where it wins
  • Sits inside a toolset a lot of marketers already have open.
  • Listing management and review tools on the higher tiers.
  • Map rank tracking included as credits.
Where it does not
  • Listing management only arrives on the higher tiers.
  • Rank tracking runs on credits, so heavy scanning costs more than the headline.
  • You are buying into the wider Semrush account model, which is a bigger commitment than a local tool.

If you are leaving Synup. Two things to weigh. Per location pricing means a second location simply doubles the $30 Base rate, which is the annual billed figure, with no band jump. But map rank tracking runs on credits, extra ones cost $5 per thousand, and listings and review tools only appear on Pro at $60.

11

Localo

Price
Single Business $49 a month, or $39 billed annually. Pro $169, or $149 annually
Trial
14 days, no card
Terms
Monthly or annual, no minimum term
Where it wins
  • Simple and quick to get going with.
  • Priced for a single location rather than an portfolio.
  • Free tools you can try in a browser.
Where it does not
  • Built around a small number of locations, so it stretches at scale.
  • Not the tool for an agency running dozens of client portfolios.

If you are leaving Synup. This is the same trap in a cheaper suit. Single Business covers exactly one profile at $49 monthly, and the next plan up is Pro at $169. A second location moves you from $49 to $169 with nothing in between, which is the jump you just left Synup over.

12

Local Viking

Price
Single $39, Starter $59, Pro $99, Agency $149, Enterprise $200 a month by listing count
Trial
No free trial advertised
Terms
Monthly
Where it wins
  • Geo grid tracking and GBP posting together at a low price.
  • White label reporting on the higher tiers.
  • Straightforward pricing by listing count.
Where it does not
  • Credits for keywords and grid scans cap how much you can actually run.
  • No free tier, so you commit before you try it.
  • Narrower than a full local SEO platform.

If you are leaving Synup. Bands here are gentle. Single covers one listing at $39 and Starter covers ten at $59, so a second location costs twenty dollars more rather than two hundred and fifty. Usage is still capped by keyword and grid credits, and there is no free trial, so you pay a month to find out.

13

SearchAtlas

Price
Starter $99, Growth $199, Pro $399, Agency $999 a month
Trial
Seven days
Terms
Month to month
Where it wins
  • Covers general SEO as well as local, so it replaces more than one tool.
  • Seats and projects included rather than charged per location.
Where it does not
  • Priced by seats and projects, so a multi location local job is not what the pricing is shaped around.
  • Local is one part of a much wider product, and depth varies.

If you are leaving Synup. Adding a location does not change the price here, because plans are sold by sites, seats and OTTO projects. The metering is worse though. GBP automations are capped at three a month on the $99 Starter, and top ups cost $19 per 500 AI points or $99 per 100 Hyperdrive credits.

14

Local Dominator

Price
Lite $39, Advance $59, Pro $97, Powerhouse $197, Enterprise $399 a month, credit metered
Trial
Seven days, no card
Terms
Monthly or annual
Where it wins
  • White label reporting on every tier, which most competitors reserve for higher plans.
  • Low entry price.
Where it does not
  • Credit based, so the sticker price is not what heavy scanning actually costs.
  • Add ons on top. An AI tracker at about $49 per site and a citations builder at about $35 per location.

If you are leaving Synup. Take the warning first. This one is credit metered as well, with 5,000 monthly credits on Lite and top ups at $100 for ten thousand. The band shape is kinder though. Lite at $39 covers one profile and Advance at $59 covers five, so growing past one location is a small step.

15

RightChoice.AI

Price
Solo $20 and Business $30 a month. Agency is $6 per profile
Trial
Seven days, no card
Terms
Monthly or annual, two months free on annual
Where it wins
  • AI led approach to local SEO and profile work.
  • Newer product, so it is built around how search works now.
Where it does not
  • No published pricing at the time of writing, so comparing cost means asking.
  • Less independent review history than the established names.

If you are leaving Synup. Solo at $20 a month covers up to two business profiles, so the second location that cost you $299 costs nothing extra here. Two caveats. AI content generation runs on a Magic Coins credit balance, so metering returns, and syndication is advertised as Bing plus 20 or so directories against Synup's hundred.

Where GMBAudit fits, and where it does not

A second location taking a bill from $49 to $299 is the kind of jump that makes people start shopping. Bands are convenient for the vendor and expensive at the edges.

So it is one plan with all 42 tools on it and no feature held back for a higher tier. One location is $16 a month, two to seven locations is a flat $37 however many you add inside that range, and from eight it is $5.33 each. Three day free trial, no card, no contract.

For the jobs people are usually comparing here, that means a portfolio view of every client, managing every profile in one place and white label reporting sit on the same plan, rather than across three subscriptions or three tiers.

Where it is not the answer
  • Newer than the names below, so there is less third party review history to read.
  • Not an enterprise procurement product. If you need a named account manager and a signed MSA, the enterprise vendors are built for that and we are not.

Four questions worth asking before you switch

Question four matters most here, because band pricing punishes you at the moment you grow. Our own answers are on the pricing page.

  1. What is on the plan you can actually afford?

Not what is on the website. Open the pricing page and check which tier holds the feature you are buying this for. In this category it is often not the entry one.

  2. What is the minimum, and the notice period?

A minimum location count decides whether you can buy at all. A notice period decides how long a bad decision lasts.

  3. Can you try it before you commit?

A trial answers the only question that matters, which is whether your team will use it after month two. A demo does not.

  4. What will it cost at the size you are growing into?

Per location pricing compounds. Work out the figure at double your current locations before you sign anything.

Synup questions

How much does Synup cost?

Startup is $99 a month, Agency is $249 and Scale is $999, with annual billing saving about 20 percent. On top of that there is a per location fee of roughly $35 a month.

Is Synup good for agencies?

It is designed for them rather than adapted for them, which shows. Client structure and reporting are handled properly.

What does Synup actually cost for 20 locations?

The base plan with locations included in each band, so the per location part alone is around $700 a month before the base fee. Check current pricing with them, since this is the number that surprises people.

What is a simpler alternative?

Local SEO Tool is $5.33 per location per month with no base fee, so the bill is one multiplication. BrightLocal is per location per tier with no base fee either.

Can I try Synup first?

It is demo led rather than self serve, so evaluation starts with a conversation rather than an account.

All 42 tools. One plan. No contract.

$16 at 1 location, flat $37 for 2 to 7, $5.33 each from 8, with a three day free trial and nothing held back for a higher tier.
