An independent look at Localo: what it does, what it costs, what users actually rate it, and how it compares with GMBAudit.

Pricing checked August 2026 against the vendor’s own page where it publishes one.

Quick verdict

Great for one profile. Nothing between $39 and $149.

Built for the owner of one location who does not want to learn SEO, with the audit, the map grid, posts and review replies in one simple app. Up to two years of profile statistics are kept, so period comparisons are built in. Buy it for a single profile, or for client work that fits the Pro allowance. The business with two to five locations is the one it fails, paying full agency rates with nothing in between.

What is Localo?

Localo is a local SEO tool aimed at small businesses and small agencies, built around getting one Google Business Profile visible and keeping it that way.

It is deliberately approachable. The onboarding is short, the interface is clean and it does not assume you already know local SEO, which is why the ratings are as high as they are.

It also publishes free browser tools, which is a reasonable way to try the approach before paying.

Our rating: 4.1 out of 5

Excellent verified ratings and the clearest interface for a non technical owner. Reporting is thin for agencies and portfolios.

Our own assessment, not an average of user reviews. Scored on price transparency, minimums, how much of the job one purchase covers, and how easily you can leave.

Localo features

Every feature below, and what it actually does rather than what the marketing calls it.

Position tracking

Localo tracks your map position from points around your business and plots them as a grid. The output is the familiar picture of green near the pin fading to red as you move out, which is the standard way this category presents local visibility.

The reason it matters is the same reason any grid matters. A single position tells you where you appeared at one spot on one day, and it cannot tell you whether you fade evenly with distance or stop dead at a boundary. Those two look identical from one reading and need completely different work.

What Localo does well here is presentation. The interface is one of the cleaner ones in the category and a non technical owner can read it without training, which is not true of every tool that draws a grid.

Best for: Owners who want to see their coverage without learning a reporting tool

Profile optimization tasks

Rather than handing you an audit, Localo converts what it finds into a task list: fill this field, add these categories, upload a photo of this type. It is the same underlying check most tools run, presented as work rather than as findings.

That framing is the point. An audit listing two hundred problems is a document people close. A short ordered list is a job that gets done, and this is the single biggest reason a small business sticks with a tool past the first month.

The limitation is that it tells you what is missing, not what will move you. Completeness and ranking are related but not the same thing, and a profile can score well while sitting on the wrong primary category.

Best for: Single location owners who need to be told what to do next, in order

Post scheduling

Google posts written ahead and published on a schedule, so the profile keeps showing activity through the weeks nobody has time to think about it.

Posting is never difficult and it is almost always the first thing dropped when work gets busy. Scheduling separates the writing from the publishing, which is what stops a profile going quiet for two months after a strong start.

Best for: Businesses whose posting stops the moment they get busy

Competitor tracking

The same grid run for the businesses near you, so your coverage can be read against theirs rather than in isolation.

This is more useful than it first appears. Your own series cannot tell your decline apart from somebody else improving, and those two need opposite responses. Running a rival supplies the variable your own numbers are missing.

Best for: Working out whether a drop is you slipping or a rival gaining

Free browser tools

Localo publishes several checks that run without an account, which is how a lot of people meet the product.

Worth knowing what a free check is and is not. It answers one question once. It does not record the answer over time, and a rank series is the thing that turns a check into a measurement you can act on.

Best for: Trying the measurement before committing to anything

Reporting

Reports covering position, profile state and the tasks completed, suitable for sending to a client or keeping as a record.

Reporting is where the single location focus shows. It is adequate for one business and thin for anyone running an portfolio or a client book, where the useful view is every location compared on the same measures.

Best for: One business keeping a record, rather than an agency reporting to clients

Localo pros and cons

Pros
  • The Position Map lets you set grid size and radius, and an area difficulty overlay color codes where ranking is realistically winnable.
  • Smart Tasks turns the audit into a prioritized weekly list, which is why an owner with no SEO background can actually use it.
  • A read only MCP connector on every plan, including the trial, so you can query rankings and reviews from ChatGPT or Claude.
  • Fourteen days free with no card, a 30 day money back guarantee, and several tools that work in the browser without an account.
Cons
  • One profile is the whole Single Business plan, so a second location means Pro at $149 or $169 a month.
  • Connected profiles and optimization seats are separate allowances, the smaller one binds, and a freed seat waits until the next billing date.
  • No published Google Search Console, Looker Studio or Zapier connectors, so reporting and automation stay inside the app.
  • Third party reviews report citation submissions still need confirming directory by directory, so listings work is not one click.

Its directory scores are among the highest in this category. Read it alongside the review count. A 4.9 from 134 people is a strong signal about how it feels to use, and the Capterra 5.0 rests on five reviews, which is too few to mean much on its own.

How GMBAudit compares

Localo has nothing between one profile and its Pro plan. Two to seven locations is a flat $37 here.

All 42 tools sit on the single plan, priced per location rather than per seat, and the numbers are on the pricing page rather than behind a call. The tools page lists every one.

Where we are not the answer
  • Newer than the names below, so there is less third party review history to read.
  • Not an enterprise procurement product. If you need a named account manager and a signed MSA, the enterprise vendors are built for that and we are not.

Localo FAQs

I have three locations. Is there anything between Single Business and Pro?

No. Single Business covers exactly one Google Business Profile at $39 a month billed annually or $49 monthly, and the next step is Pro at $149 or $169. Three locations pay agency pricing. Local SEO Tool charges $16 for one location, a flat $37 for two to seven and $5.33 each from eight upward.

What is an optimization seat, and is it the same as a connected profile?

They are two separate allowances, and the smaller one decides what you can actually work on. Pro connects up to 60 profiles but includes up to 30 optimization seats. The vendor also states a deactivated seat does not come back until your next billing date, or the first of the following month on annual billing.

Can the Localo MCP connector post to my profile from ChatGPT or Claude?

No. It is deliberately read only and never writes to Google Business Profile. You can ask it about rankings, reviews, keywords and profile health for one client or a whole portfolio, then act inside Localo. It is included on every plan, including the 14 day trial.

Why does the price say plus VAT, and what will I actually be billed?

The plan prices are published excluding VAT, so $39 or $149 a month is not necessarily what leaves your account. Localo is a Europe based vendor, and VAT treatment depends on where you are buying from, so confirm the total on the checkout page rather than the pricing page.

Does Localo submit my citations for me, or do I confirm each directory?

Citation listings are part of the app, but the per directory step is reported, not confirmed by the vendor. Third party reviews report each submission still needs confirming individually rather than going out in one click. Budget time for it, and consider a dedicated listings tool if broad syndication is the main job.

All 42 tools. One plan. No contract.

One location is $16 a month, two to seven is a flat $37, and from eight it is $5.33 each. Three day free trial.
