Service area tracking
# Rank tracking for businesses without a shopfront.
A plumber, roofer or cleaner serves a territory, not a doorway. One rank reading at the office measures nothing useful, so the service area scan checks your rank across everything you cover, or across a set of zip codes.

Built for mobile businessesWhole territory scannedCity and zip code grids

## The short answer
The service area rank tracker runs grid scans shaped around a mobile business. Instead of measuring at a shopfront, it checks rankings across the whole area you serve, or across a city or a set of zip codes, so a business that travels to its customers can see where it stands in every part of the territory. Rescans run on the schedule you choose, and the history is kept like any other scan.

What it is
## Why is tracking different for a mobile business?
A shop can measure its rank where customers stand: at the shop. A mobile business has no such point. The customers are spread across everywhere the van goes.

Measuring at the registered address answers the wrong question. It tells you how you rank where the van parks overnight, which is often the one place nobody is searching from.

The service area scan asks the right question instead: in which parts of your area can customers actually find you?

01 · The territory scan
## A rank at every point across your area.
The scan spreads its points across the territory you actually serve, and every point carries its own rank for the keyword.

A roofer covering three towns sees all three, rather than a single flattering number at an office no customer ever visits.

02 · City and zip grids
## Match the grid to how you price your jobs.
Set the grid over a whole city, or over a set of zip codes. That works well when your service area follows zip code borders instead of a circle.

If you quote by zip code, you can track by zip code, and the numbers line up with how the business actually runs.

03 · The uneven fade
## Coverage is never a circle.
Visibility fades with distance, and it fades unevenly. You may rank well for six miles in one direction and disappear after two in another, because competitors and people are not spread evenly either.

The scan shows the shape, and the shape tells you which half of your territory you are actually competitive in.

04 · Invisible or expensive
## Two problems that look identical.
When no customers ever contact you from a suburb, it can feel like your prices are too high. The scan often shows something different: you were never shown there at all.

Those need opposite responses. Losing on price means sharpening your quotes. Never being shown means building your presence in that suburb, and now you know which one you have.

05 · Rescans on your schedule
## The territory, rechecked without rebuilding the scan.
Service area scans repeat on the schedule you set, and every scan is saved, so the territory has a history like any tracked keyword.

Spend three months improving one part of your area, then put the old scan next to the new one and see exactly which points moved.

How it works
## How to set it up
- **Define the territory honestly.** The area you serve, not the area you wish for.
- **Choose city or zip code grid.** Whichever matches how you quote and work.
- **Enter the keywords that bring money.** The searches that turn into booked jobs.
- **Read the shape.** Where you hold, where you fade, and why.
- **Work one edge at a time.** Re scans show whether the edge moved.

FAQ
## Questions people ask

**Q: Who is this built for?**
Businesses that travel to their customers: plumbers, roofers, cleaners, electricians, movers and every other mobile trade without a counter to measure at.

**Q: Why not just track at my address?**
Google changes results with the searcher's position. Your office reading can show you at two while a customer ten miles out sees you at nine, and only the second number matters.

**Q: Can I track by zip code?**
Yes. Choose zip mode when you build the scan and enter the codes you cover. Each zip gets its own scan points and its own rank for the keyword.

**Q: Why is my coverage so uneven?**
Because competitors and population are uneven. Coverage follows both, which is why one direction holds for miles while another fades fast, and why the shape is worth seeing.

**Q: A suburb sends me no leads. What does the scan tell me?**
Whether that suburb ever sees you. No visibility means the problem is not your prices, and the fix is local SEO work aimed at that area rather than discounting.

**Q: How often should the territory be scanned?**
On a schedule, weekly or monthly. Improving a weak part of your area takes about three months, and the saved scans prove whether your rankings moved.

## You quote in nine zip codes. Do you rank in all nine?
Scan your whole area, find the suburbs that never see you, and improve the weak parts with proof of progress. From $5.33 per location each month, three day trial.
